Check a product passport.

Each time a brand publishes its product passport on Veribl, that version is signed: Veribl records a fingerprint of its contents, links it to the version before it, and signs it with Veribl’s key. This page checks those signatures. If anything was edited or removed after publication, the check fails.

No. It shows who published what, when, and that it hasn’t changed since. The brand is responsible for what its passport says, as EU rules require. Certificates listed in a passport come from the bodies that issued them.

It’s the number under the barcode (GTIN, EAN or UPC), usually 13 digits. You can also scan the product’s QR code with your phone and paste the link it opens.

Some products, such as batteries, have a passport per unit with its own history: status, repairs, state of health. With the serial number, the check covers that unit’s history too.

Either the number was mistyped, the brand hasn’t published a passport yet, or the passport is hosted by another provider. This page only checks passports hosted by Veribl.

Yes. Each result links to the raw signature data, and Veribl’s public keys are published. Developers can recompute every check without relying on this page.
